Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, who has been the team’s leading scorer, is now a veteran and no longer shows the same speed and dribbling as he did in his prime.Liverpool are only pursuing attacking players in the transfer market this summer after a sharp decline in decision-making in the second half of the season.

Positionally, securing a successor to left-footed right winger Egyptian King is a top priority. However, the list is not limited to right wingers, but includes a wide variety of forwards who can score, with names of left wingers from rival Premier League teams also being floated.

According to The Daily Star, Liverpool are interested in Newcastle’s England international Anthony Gordon, with a transfer fee expected to be at least £100 million.

The Liverpool winger left Everton, where he made 78 appearances, in the winter of 2023 to join the Saudi capital club. He has excellent speed out of the back and his accuracy in front of goal has been honed in the north of England, where he has scored double-digit goals and assisted double-digit goals this season.

Although he is developing well, he is still under-achieving when asked if he is a world-class forward. A colleague, Alexander Isak, would be understandable, but given his overly expensive transfer fee, plus the fact that he is a former Evertonian, it is unlikely that Liverpool would be interested in acquiring him.

He will continue to gain experience at Newcastle and will be one of the best forwards in the Premier League, but it is hard to envision a future playing at Anfield.
