Liverpool lead Barcelona in search of attackers over Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo Transfers

After the Jurgen Klopp regime, Liverpool are moving into the era of new manager Arne Slot. There are no major player changes planned, but the focus is on front-line players whose scoring declined in the second half of the season, in addition to the centre-backs Joel Matip has left.

Young forwards and attacking midfielders such as PSV Eindhoven forward Johan Bakayoko have been reported as targets. Recently, the name of Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo, who plays for RB Leipzig, was also mentioned.

According to Marca, Liverpool are in a better position over the player than Barcelona, who are also trying to acquire him, and are close to agreeing to pay a termination clause of €60 million, which is valid until 15 July.

The German club has scored 29 goals and 34 assists in 148 games, while his previous club, Dinamo Zagreb, has also produced results, scoring 34 goals and 28 assists in 124 games.

He can play on the left or right wing as well as an attacking midfielder. Up front, he has the flexibility to play in several positions. He could even replace Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, forwards who have been rumoured to be on the move.

However, realistically, Liverpool are unlikely to let go of any of their current forward line-up, and with the priority in attackers being left-footed right wingers, it is unlikely that this report will become a reality.

So how will Liverpool’s plans for reinforcements this summer pan out…?
