Liverpool, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Lyon's 20-year-old midfielder Rayan Cherki Transfers

Following last summer’s transfer window, Liverpool have turned their attention to attacking midfielders. The list includes players who can contribute both goals and assists, such as German midfielder Florian Wirtz, who leads the attack for Bayer Leverkusen, who won the Bundesliga without defeat.

Liverpool are also interested in other midfielders. Lyon’s 20-year-old midfielder Rayan Cherki, who can also play as a left or right winger, is also a target and has made contact with the club, along with Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain, reports the French newspaper Sports Zone.

The France U-23 midfielder, a member of Lyon’s academy, was promoted to the first team in 2020. Since then, he has made a total of 141 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing 25 assists. He has been a presence up front for the France U-21 national team, scoring 11 goals in 20 games.

He is not a midfielder who can also score, but more of a chance-maker. For Liverpool, they have plenty of chancescorers, and what they need is a player who can push the ball into the goalmouth with certainty on the decisive occasion.

It seems unlikely that Liverpool will make a move for a French midfielder, as he doesn’t really fit that profile. The type of player who can be more visible in front of goal should be a priority, and hopefully a right winger will be given top priority.

So who will Liverpool welcome to Anfield as a new attacker…?
