Manager Mikel Arteta is also looking to ease the burden on Ben White, adding the Rotterdam-born defender to his squad in a bid to strengthen his squad, with Julien Timber, also from Holland, secured in the summer of 2023 to further develop a solid final line.

Liverpool also have a need for a right-back to replace their defensively-challenged England defender, who could switch positions to defensive midfielder next season. Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez are also in the squad, but could be a logical reinforcement if it includes a perceived replacement for Joel Matip.
