Bayern Munich, under new manager Vincent Kompany, are keen to sign Joe Gomez Transfers

Joe Gomez joined Liverpool in 2015 after being recognised as an extraordinary talent, and has developed into a defender who has also been selected for England. The problem is that he has not been able to become an absolute regular, as he has not been able to break his injury habit and has often been out for long periods of the season.

Recently, he has often acted as a centre-back, but has fallen behind the likes of Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate, and has spent more and more days warming the bench.

This season, however, he has made his mark as a left-back and has also shown a high level of commitment as a right-back, and has returned to the national team after a long absence.

He is expected to be a utility player who can play in a variety of positions next season, and Bayern Munich are interested in him from Germany, with new coach Vincent Kompany hoping to land him, according to The Mirror.

Bayern, who are looking to regain their Bundesliga supremacy after Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten run, will be looking to leverage their centre-backs. They are planning to bring in Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, while Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is another candidate.

An England defender who can play not only at centre-back, but also at left and right back and defensive midfield, would certainly be a valuable asset to the team, and with transfer rumours flying around for the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies, it becomes even more important.

However, Liverpool are not set to sell this summer and the 27-year-old defender, who is under contract until 2027, is expected to be a valued team member under new manager Arne Slott.

The former Charlton defender, who also played in EURO 2024, should be a high performer at Anfield next season.
