In addition to centre-backs, Liverpool are looking to strengthen their forward line-up. They have listed various attackers for this summer’s transfer window and are scouting their respective performances, while also making enquiries about their contractual status.

One of the targets is Spanish international Nico Williams, who plays for Athletic Bilbao. The young gem has scored eight goals and 19 assists in a total of 37 games this season and has been selected for EURO 2024.

However, contrary to reports, Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for him. The Athletic reports that the player is not among the candidates and that they are not looking to secure the left winger.

“[Liverpool] are also interested in adding a wide attacker to increase their options in that department, but Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams is not under consideration.”

“On the left side, they are already well served with Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota. Liverpool are planning for the new season with Diaz, despite interest from Barcelona.”

The top priority is seen as the signing of a right winger to replace Egyptian international Mohamed Salah.

The veteran striker, who is also being keenly watched by Saudi Arabia, is under contract until June 2025 and the possibility of him leaving Anfield on a free transfer next year cannot be ruled out.

Adding a potential replacement in what could be his last season and allowing him to acclimatise to England and Liverpool for a year would be an ideal reinforcement plan.

So which attackers will Liverpool be looking to whitewash…?
