Interest from Liverpool continues for Patrick Dorgu, who is targeted by the Italian giants Transfers

Liverpool have one of the best left-backs in the Premier League with Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas and Joe Gomez. There is no need for further reinforcements, and with promising youngsters such as Owen Beck in the pipeline, they are well-stocked.

Nevertheless, the Scotland captain has reached the 30-year-old mark and the Greek defender failed to show his ability last season, failing to make the most of Robertson’s absence. Despite the emergence of Joe Gomez, Tsimikas has been rumoured to be on his way out.

According to international media outlet PianetaLecce, Liverpool are interested in Danish U-21 defender Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, while two other clubs from the Premier League are also interested.

Last season he made 32 appearances in Serie A and quickly gained a reputation in Italy. The 19-year-old defender, who has also been used as a left midfielder in the second half of the season, has received interest from Inter Milan, Napoli and Atalanta.

This is not the first time interest from Liverpool has been reported for the player. News of a link with the promising young left-back also broke during the season, and it cannot be ruled out that they may try to acquire him early on as a regular candidate.

It is said that he is demanding roughly 30 million euros, and the player himself is said to be keen to challenge abroad, so if negotiations between the clubs can be agreed, there seems to be a high probability that a move could be made.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Aït-Nouri, and their movements in the transfer market this summer will be closely watched. However, given the fact that left-back is not a priority position, it is unlikely that Liverpool will make a serious move for him.

Will the Danish U-21 defender embark on a new career…?
