Liverpool turn down offers from Wolfsburg and Mainz for Sepp van den Berg Transfers

22-year-old defender Sepp van den Berg has spent a long time on loan since moving to Liverpool from the Netherlands. When he joined Mainz last season, he was a regular in the starting line-up and performed well throughout the year.

The young centre-back, who has developed his reputation in the Bundesliga, was of interest to PSV Eindhoven from his home country, in addition to German sides such as Mainz and Hoffenheim, but the Dutch club took a step towards a deal and presented an offer for €10 million,Fabrizio Romano reported.

“Understand PSV Eindhoven have sent formal bid to Liverpool for Sepp van den Berg at the end of last week, worth around €10m.”

“Liverpool have immediately rejected the proposal.”

Liverpool value the player highly, with manager Arne Slot putting his trust in him, and are asking for a transfer fee of €20 million. This time the offer was half, and the Reds could not shake their heads and no progress was made.

Meanwhile, the player and his agent have questioned the amount and have not hidden their desire to move to a club where a starting place is guaranteed.

Depending on how Slot’s team will rank in the centre-back pecking order throughout pre-season, it would not be surprising if the Dutch defender submits a transfer request.

Will the former Netherlands U-21 defender join a new club this summer?
