Liverpool’s search for a team ace to replace Egyptian international Mohamed Salah has seen a number of left and right wingers, centre forwards, attacking midfielders and front-line goal scorers on the list, with their movements being closely watched.
Japan midfielder Takefusa Kubo is also being discussed as a possible successor to Egyptian King, while Real Sociedad colleague midfielder Brais Méndez has also shown interest and could be in contention with Arsenal, according to Fichajes.
The 28-year-old Spanish midfielder is under contract until June 2028, but his club is also reportedly seeking €50 million.
Last season, he made 44 appearances throughout La Liga and the Champions League, scoring eight goals and assisting nine, helping his side finish sixth in the domestic league.
In 2018, the player made his debut for Spain and has been on the pitch for four games and has become an integral part of the team, playing in a variety of positions, including central midfielder and right winger, in addition to his attacking midfield position.
However, he is hardly the type of player Liverpool are looking for. Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott can also play in similar positions, and a player who can score more goals should be a priority.
