19-year-old midfielder Bobby Clark was trusted by manager Jurgen Klopp, who left Anfield at the end of last season. Due to a number of injuries, he played in the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup last season.
Pepijn Lijnders, who has been an assistant coach to the German coach and has been appointed manager of Red Bull Salzburg this season, is another believer in the young midfielder’s talent and was thought to have been exploring the possibility of a loan move for some time.
According to DAVEOCKOP, the Austrian club made a move for him and presented an offer of £6 million for a full transfer, rather than a loan move. However, Liverpool apparently rejected the offer.
Other clubs such as Norwich City, Rangers and Leeds United have also expressed interest, and the player could be loaned to the Championship or Scottish Premiership.
In the summer of 2021, he moved to Liverpool from Newcastle United. After honing his skills in the under-category, he made a total of 14 first-team appearances, scoring one goal and assisting two.
It is unlikely that Liverpool would let him go on a permanent transfer, but a loan move would be acceptable. So which club will the young midfielder play for in the new season…?
