Liverpool are expected to enter the transfer market in earnest now that their tour in the USA is over. In addition to defensive midfielders and centre-backs, they are also looking to strengthen their attackers and have shown interest in young forwards such as Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon.
Among attackers, a number of names of winger-type players have been shortlisted, but former Scotland midfielder Don Hutchison, who played for Liverpool, West Ham United and Everton during his playing days, insisted that money should be put towards acquiring a centre-forward.
“You would be better off putting £100m towards Osimhen. £50m for Gordon doesn’t really because of the players that Liverpool have got.”
“They have got enough cover. They have got a lot of players in wide areas, but what they are lacking (is a striker), as we saw towards the end of the season, Darwin Nunez was inconsistent.”

Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, who plays for Napoli, is at the forefront of the team due to his blessed physique and high athleticism. He is one of the best strikers in Europe with 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 games for the Italian side.
The former Lille forward is also being followed by Chelsea and others, but the chances of him heading to Anfield are slim to none, but what kind of future could lie ahead…?
