Valencia could agree to a price cut due to economic problems for "Liverpool-linked" Giorgi Mamardashvili Transfers

Liverpool are serious about acquiring Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, and reports are rife that they have already presented an offer.

This is due to the uncertainty over the departure of Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker beyond next season, and the rumoured departure of Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

According to Levante EMV, Valencia are considering a major sale in order to rebuild their finances in this summer’s transfer window, and it is increasingly likely that the Georgia goalkeeper will leave the Estadio de Mestalla before the transfer deadline at the end of this month.

Reports in Spain suggest that Liverpool see the 23-year-old goalkeeper as a prime candidate for a cheap deal. Valencia value him at €45 million and Newcastle United are also understood to be interested, but they believe there is room for negotiation due to financial improvements.

Liverpool are fully aware of Valencia’s financial problems and are expected to proceed with negotiations to reduce the price. Two offers have been presented so far, both of which were rejected by Valencia. Liverpool’s aim is to sign him and give him experience on loan at a Premier League club until Alisson leaves.

Valencia have not received a valuation offer for the 23-year-old defender, but the probability of him being sold for below market value is increasing. Liverpool would like to target that timing and bring the next generation of regular goalkeeping candidates to Anfield.

In any case, it seems unlikely that Valencia will accept an offer of less than €45 million at the moment, but depending on how serious the financial problems are, they may have to reluctantly let go of their main man, and Premier League sides with money to spare, such as Liverpool and Newcastle, are interested. Players who can afford to do so may well be a target.

Will Liverpool sign a new goalkeeper this summer and take him on loan in the future?
