Liverpool and Tottenham are keen to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie Transfers

Liverpool have shown continued interest in left-footed centre-backs. Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio and Ecuadorian defender William Pacho, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain, have emerged as targets, while 22-year-old Bundesliga defender Piero Hincapié has also been reported as a candidate since last summer.

However, no centre-back has been signed so far in the summer transfer window. Although there is a possibility of reinforcements in the remaining period of the season, no defender is reported to be in talks at the moment, and at worst, August could end without any reinforcements.

According to Studio Futbol, Liverpool have not lost interest in the centre-back, who won unbeaten at Bayer Leverkusen, and could be in the market for him along with Tottenham Hotspur.

Earlier this month, German Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg suggested that the player was on his way out and revealed that several top clubs had made enquiries.

Leverkusen, who have a contract with the German club until June 2027, are not willing to sell the Ecuadorian left-back and would need to make a decent fee to make the move go through.

Will Liverpool or Tottenham be in the market for Hincapié before the transfer window closes?
