With some of the Premier League’s best left wingers in Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo, Liverpool’s need to reinforce their left-sided attackers has never been greater, but a blitz transfer could happen just in time for the transfer deadline.

According to Football Insider, the club are planning to acquire Napoli’s Georgian international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who they have been monitoring long-term. It also reports that Liverpool are eyeing wide players in the transfer market and are looking for major reinforcements in this final stage.

They are close to acquiring Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, another Georgia international, and it is likely to be the first of this summer’s reinforcements. A teammate of the national team, he has scored 25 goals and provided 26 assists in 90 games for Napoli.

The leading Serie A attacker is an absolute regular at his club and has a contract remaining until 2027, so a substantial transfer offer is needed. Liverpool, who have released many youngsters, would not be unable to raise the money, but as it is not a priority position, it is unlikely that they would invest a large amount of money.

Also, the search for a successor to Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, rather than a left winger, should be a priority, and it is hard to believe that they would go out of their way to bring in a new player in a position where they are oversupplied, and for a lot of money.

It seems unlikely that a 23-year-old Italian winger would be acquired at this point in time, but what do you think?
