Liverpool consider bringing in Italian international Federico Chiesa as contact made with Juventus Transfers

Liverpool may make a run-in reinforcement before the transfer window closes this summer. Giorgi Mamardashvili has been confirmed as a signing, securing a long-term replacement for Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker and the first player in Arne Slott’s regime.

Liverpool will be looking to add further reinforcements to their squad, although their time at Anfield will be carried over to next year and beyond, as they spend this season at Valencia. With the transfer market deadline looming, it has emerged that the club may be serious about acquiring an attacker, as originally envisaged.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool are considering a move for Italy international Federico Chiesa from Juventus. Although it is still in the exploratory phase, he has one year remaining on his contract and is expected to be available for just €15 million.

The 26-year-old winger, who is being treated as an asset at Thiago Motta’s club, has not been included in the squad for the last three pre-season games and the Italian club are looking for a buyer.

After failing to land Spanish international Nico Williams, Barcelona are believed to be working to secure the player in order to strengthen their left winger, and the departure of the attacker, who can play as a right winger as well as on the left side, is being closely watched.

The 26-year-old forward was a revelation throughout the tournament at EURO 2020, but has had few good seasons since, partly due to injuries. Although he is not yet old enough to age, he could continue his downward slide if he cannot get his condition right.

Will Liverpool ever implement the reinforcements they never thought they would…?
