Nottingham Forest offer for Caoimhin Kelleher, rejected again by Liverpool Transfers

25-year-old goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher performed admirably in the absence of Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker last season, saving the goalmouth in 26 games. He is a modern goalkeeper who is mentally stable and can get the ball out under pressure, and his ability is too good to be second best.

In recent years, whenever the transfer window has opened, there have been reports of a possible move for a regular place in the team, but due to Liverpool’s high demands, no move has ever been completed. While he was rumoured to be leaving the club this summer, the subject never moved forward.

This winter, Nottingham Forest made an offer for the player, but no agreement was reached between the clubs due to Liverpool’s high demands. However, according to The Athletic, the club were once again sneaking up on the Irish goalkeeper.

They had proposed an offer that included US goalkeeper Matt Turner, however, the offer fell short of the Merseyside club’s £25m-£30m demanding fee, and the summer transfer talks appear to have died down.

Liverpool have acquired Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will remain in Spain this season but will join Liverpool next summer. Finally, the second best position is in jeopardy and he will probably leave Anfield in the summer of 2025.

With 23-year-old Czech goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros also on the horizon, it is hard to imagine a world where Liverpool would want the 30-year-old goalkeeper from the USA. The transfer fee could drop slightly next year, but will Nottingham Forest be in the market for him at that time…?
