This is his last season...English sports reporter on the future of Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah Transfers

Egyptian international Mohamed Salah is approaching the end of his contract, which expires in June 2025. Other players in a similar situation are Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, but no negotiations with Liverpool are underway at the moment.

Egyptian King received a huge offer from Saudi Arabia last summer, and Middle Eastern clubs are reportedly continuing to show interest in the player, with the aim of acquiring him when his contract expires.

Whether he leaves on a free transfer or extends his contract, the 32-year-old winger’s departure will be closely watched.

Richard Keys (English sports reporter), referring to the future of the Egyptian forward at Liverpool, pointed out that Italian international Federico Chiesa, who joined the club this summer, could be his successor, stressing that this would be his last season.

“I think, probably, they [Liverpool] are considering that he [Chiesa] might be Mohamed Salah’s replacement,”

“Salah’s into his last year and Liverpool might look back on the £150 million they were offered 12 months ago and consider perhaps they should have taken that.”

“I think, whatever else, this is his last season. And therefore, if you found a replacement now that you can spend 12 months familiarising with the club and the league.”

It is somewhat too much responsibility to entrust a successor to the former Juventus winger.

In recent years, he has not performed as well as he did in the prime of his career, partly due to injuries, and depending on how well he performs in his first Premier League season, the club could be looking to secure a right winger in his early 20s this winter or next summer.

Will the veteran attacker, still the team’s ace, leave Anfield on his current deal or sign a new one?
