Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona and Real Madrid looking at the next generation of Brazilian defender Vitor Reis Transfers

Last season, young 21-year-old defender Jarell Quansah developed rapidly. When he joined the first team, he showed a composure that belied his age, even competing with Ibrahima Konate for a place in the team. He has also gained experience with 33 appearances throughout the Premier League and Europa League.

At the moment, 27-year-old defender Joe Gomez, who is the fourth choice centre-back, has been hit by rumours of an exit. The former Charlton defender was included in negotiations over Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, and Liverpool are unlikely to reject a release as long as they pay the right transfer fee.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are also interested in Brazilian U-17 defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras in order to strengthen their centre-backs in the medium to long term, and have sent scouts to watch the young defender’s development.

It is also reported that Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Benfica are also interested in the player, with scouts from each team visiting the stadium.

In the 2023/24 season, he made 10 appearances in Brazil’s top flight. He has shown high potential in the few appearances he has made, and has rapidly developed into a player that all the strong clubs are following his trend. He also played 90 minutes in two matches against Botafogo in the Libertadores.

The 18-year-old centre-back, who has also played eight games for Brazil’s U-17 national team, is gaining a growing reputation at home, but will he travel to Europe this winter?
