Arne Slot has taken over from Jurgen Klopp to lead Liverpool. Despite the defeat against Nottingham Forest, he has been in good form since the start of the Premier League season and his reputation for his skills is growing.

Colombian international Luis Diaz, who has been a presence in Liverpool’s front line since joining from Porto, has performed as well as the team, dribbling down the left flank and responding defensively, and scoring more goals in front of goal among others.

The 27-year-old left winger said that he has a good relationship with his new Dutch coach, who has clearly pointed out areas for improvement and has helped him to improve his own performances.

“As a coach, he has been spectacular from the first day I arrived and we had contact. The relationship is and continues to be really good,”

“He is very attentive to the things you need to improve but he will also praise you for the good things you do. He is a good coach in that sense.”

“He puts together good plans for the games and you can see that reflected in our results. We have shown a lot of quality in our first few games.”

“I think the training sessions are helping a lot,”

“Also, the confidence the coach and the team give you when everyone is playing well and things are going well. I think confidence is really important. But then there is also the hard work I am doing every day on my finishing and my movements.”

“The coach always tries to correct the movements you need to make in order to be well-positioned, to arrive in front of the goal better and score more goals. So, that really helps a lot.”

“I think that’s mostly what it’s about, being in the right positions, getting closer to goal and obviously working on your finishing.”

With Liverpool’s strong attackers such as Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa, it’s hard to keep hold of a regular place in the team, but with his increased scoring power, he has no intention of giving up his place in the starting line-up.

Can the Colombian international score enough goals in the new Liverpool system to break into the Premier League scoring charts?
