Liverpool and Newcastle in a battle for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo Transfers

Together with former England international Ivan Toney, now at Al Ahli, Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo has been instrumental in Brentford’s progress on the big stage of the Premier League. He has continued to lead the team’s attack this season with eight goals in 13 games.

According to The Sun, Liverpool and Newcastle United have expressed interest in the player, and a battle could develop as early as this winter transfer window. However, his club also claims that they are against a mid-season release.

In addition to the contractual problems of Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, there have been rumours of securing a new right winger, as he will be 33 next summer. In fact, the Brentford winger’s name was frequently mentioned.

With over ‘100’ appearances in the Premier League, he has established himself as a right winger. At 25 years of age, it is the right time for him to step up. With less than a year remaining on his contract in next summer’s transfer window, this will be his last chance to sell for a higher price, assuming he does not renew his contract.

The attacker, who combines physicality and threatening speed, would be a potential successor to Egyptian King. He is also committed in defence and is likely to adapt to Arne Slot’s footballing style.

On the other hand, Newcastle are preparing former England international Callum Wilson as a trade player and are said to be looking to secure the Cameroon winger, who is valued at £50 million.

With the attacker under contract until 2026 and a mandatory price drop next summer, it is unlikely that both clubs will make a mid-season move. For Liverpool, they are reportedly linked with a number of other players and will be considering who to bet all their money on.

So will the 25-year-old French forward be playing for another club next season…?
