Joao Pedro's transfer fee is over £60m...Liverpool look to pry him away from Brighton Transfers

Portugal’s Diogo Jota has a period of time out injured every season, and Uruguay’s Darwin Nunez is strong behind the final line, but struggles with the style of play that allows him to get close to goal while making the most of his winger line-up.

Recently, Colombian attacker Luis Diaz, whose main job is left winger, has been playing more and more games at centre forward. Combined with Mohamed Salah’s age, Liverpool are accelerating their move towards a generational change in their attacking line-up, with reports circulating that they are also interested in Brighton forward  João Pedro.

According to Football Insider, the south of England club are expected to demand more than £60 million, double the £30 million they paid when acquiring him from Watford, but the player himself is open to stepping up in the Premier League.

He moved to the Amex Stadium in the summer of 2023 and scored 20 goals in 40 games in his first season with the club, making his debut for Brazil in November 2023 and enjoying a smooth sailing start to the season. He has been a key player in the team this season, scoring four goals and assisting three in 11 games.

He is a flexible attacker who can play in a variety of positions up front, such as centre forward or second striker. He also has experience playing in midfield, including as an attacking midfielder, and his high level of utility could be an advantage for head coach Arne Slot.

He has also gained experience in the Europa League and is on the way to a step up in his career. At only 23 years of age, he could be one of the leaders of the attack in the new Liverpool era.

Will the Reds be looking to bring in a Brazilian forward from the Premier League as well?
