Davide Frattesi, a 25-year-old midfielder who developed his reputation at Sassuolo, spent a year on loan at Inter Milan before officially joining the club this season. He has made 19 appearances so far, but more than half of them have come from the middle of the park.
Although he has not been able to start for the prestigious Italian club, he has earned the trust of the national team, where he made his debut in 2022, and played in the most recent UEFA Nations League matches against Belgium and France. He has become an integral part of coach Luciano Spalletti’s team.
According to Italian media InterLive.it, Liverpool are interested in Inter’s 25-year-old midfielder in their quest for a defensive midfielder, and could be asked to offer the team’s native 23-year-old midfielder Curtis Jones as a trade piece.
Inter Milan reportedly rate Liverpool academy graduate Jones highly and are eyeing him as an ideal replacement. On the other hand, the Merseyside club are unlikely to let go of their home-grown player and it seems unlikely that this transfer drama will become a reality.
It is also reported that Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the Italian midfielder and, like Jones, mentioned that they may seek 28-year-old goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who plays for the London-based club.
Both players are important to the team and there is no way they would release their main squad for a player who spends a lot of time on the bench at Inter.
It’s just a rumour and I’d enjoy it as a creation.
