Liverpool prepare to sell Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher ahead of next summer's transfer window Transfers

Irish goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher continued to protect the goalmouth during the period when Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker was out. He made 13 appearances this season, including through the Premier League and Champions League.

However, as soon as Liverpool’s regular keeper returned, he reverted to warming the bench. It has been reported that he has been looking for a move away from the club in search of an environment where he could play every week, and reports of his departure from Anfield have been rife every time the transfer market has opened in recent years.

And in the summer of 2025, the 26-year-old goalkeeper looks set to finally make the move. He has decided to sign Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia and is expected to compete regularly with Alisson from next season onwards.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are preparing to sell their second-choice goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, who is under contract until June 2026, and are waiting for an offer for the right amount. In addition, Newcastle United have expressed interest.

Although England goalkeeper Nick Pope is known for his shot-stopping ability, he has been frequently injured and has not been able to play a game. At 32 years of age, the Liverpool reserve goalkeeper could be an ideal target if there is a new switch to back-to-back football.

In the past, Premier League clubs have shown interest but have never reached Liverpool’s desired fee. However, with less than a year remaining on his contract this summer, it seems unlikely that the Merseyside club will be making such high demands.

So which club will the goalkeeper, who is also a regular in the Irish national team, defend the goalmouth next season?
