Barcelona are preparing €70 million this summer to land Luis Diaz from Liverpool Transfers

Arne Slot’s team fixed Dutch international Cody Gakpo as a left winger and Colombian international Luis Diaz as a centre-forward. He drops back into midfield, but still retains the ball despite being hit by the centre-backs. He moves fluidly through the positions to invigorate the attack.

Since joining the club in January 2022, he has been an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s regime, but the player’s father revealed that he had supported Barcelona since childhood, and rumours of a move to Spain have been reported ever since.

According to Antena2, Barcelona, who have shown interest over the past 12 months, have €70 million available and are willing to put pressure on Liverpool to sell.

The Colombian attacker, who is under contract until June 2027, is still negotiating a contract extension with the Merseyside club and has yet to sign a new deal, despite some journalists reporting that they are close to an agreement.

Compared to other forwards such as Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez, the salaries they receive are low, and if they sign a new contract, a significant salary increase is expected.

On the other hand, the Spanish club, which has been struggling financially and struggled with player registrations this season, has made redundancy a priority rather than signing big names. The sale of key players such as Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who is one of the top salaried players, is inevitable.

It seems unlikely that such a club would be serious about acquiring a 28-year-old forward, but what do you think?
