Liverpool were in negotiations with the club and the player last summer for the capture of Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

German Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reported that Bayern Munich have also joined the fray, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also keen.

It is clear that manager Arne Slot likes the player, but if the reports are correct, the transfer fee could soar.Therefore, it is unlikely that Liverpool will continue to be in the running and will have their eyes on other targets.
