Paris Saint-Germain plan to bring in French defender Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool Transfers

French defender Ibrahima Konate has partnered Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk at Anfield since the summer of 2021. Despite his large stature, he is also fast and has continued to cover the spaces behind the final line.

Up until last season, he was pinch-pinned back by England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold with his excellent covering. He is currently in talks with Liverpool about signing a new contract, but it has not been concluded.

According to Anfield Watch, Paris Saint-Germain are keen on the French centre-back, who is under contract until June 2026, and will go all out to acquire him.

They have no intention of making a move this winter and have their sights set on this summer’s transfer window.

The 25-year-old defender, who is also increasingly starting for France, has made over 100 appearances for Anfield.

He has made a name for himself as one of the best centre-backs in the world and is expected to be a defensive leader after Van Dijk’s departure.

Arne Slot will not let him go easily and will put his whole heart and soul into signing a new contract.

He has been an absolute regular this season and as a Liverpool supporter, I hope he agrees to a new contract as soon as possible.
