‘I need to be playing’ Liverpool transfer rumours...Senegal midfielder waits for the right moment Transfers

With Andy Robertson’s performances beginning to lack consistency and Kostas Tsimikas failing to become a world-class left-back, reports of Liverpool’s interest in a new left-back are heating up.

While names have surfaced for various defenders, notably Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, Arne Slot’s club are also eyeing Senegalese midfielder El Hadji Malick Diouf, who plays for Slavia Prague.

The 20-year-old young Senegalese player plays as a left midfielder or winger rather than a pure left-back.

The left-sided specialist revealed that he does not feel bad about the transfer rumours, but said he must avoid an environment where he would sit on the bench.

“I can see what is happening around me, but I’m definitely not distracted by it. I’m concentrating on myself, on Slavia, I have no reason to rush. I told my uncle, my agent, the same thing. He knows everything,”

“I know that one day I will take the next step. That day is approaching, but I also have to be convinced that it is happening at the ideal moment so as not to slow down my development.”

“I don’t know if [Liverpool interest] is true. It sounds nice, but would I play for Liverpool? Would I fit in there? For me, it’s essential that I don’t stop.”

“It’s difficult to move from the substitutes bench. I need to be playing.”
