Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is not entirely in tune with the style of play that manager Arne Slott is aiming for. He has also struggled to score, with six goals in 29 games so far, and is at a crossroads in his third year at Anfield.
He has been under the impression that he is losing out to the likes of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz in the pecking order, and transfer rumours have been rife recently. Interest from Saudi Arabia is frequently reported, while European clubs such as Atletico Madrid have also been mentioned as potential new destinations.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Napoli, who sold Georgia international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain this winter, are interested in the Uruguayan striker and have identified him as one of their targets to strengthen their front line.
The Georgian forward is in a different position to the Benfica forward, but has a career that has seen him score a number of goals during his time at Benfica. He also scored 18 goals and assisted 13 last season at Anfield, and his ability to get through at the back is one of the best in the world.
He is not a dexterous type of player and his ball handling is not as good as Jota and Diaz. However, his pressing from the front and his vigour in pursuit of goal are attractive, and he would be a good fit for a team that focuses on counter-attacking.
Will the Italian club be able to pluck a scorer from Liverpool?
