Chelsea, Bournemouth and Newcastle in a battle over Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher Transfers

Liverpool, where Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker reigns as the regular defender and Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has been confirmed for next season, is expected to leave at the end of the season, with third-choice goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros also facing contract expiry.

One of the most closely watched departures is that of Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher. Nottingham Forest have been interested for some time, but a move did not materialise as they were unable to offer Liverpool the fee they were demanding.

With Belgian goalkeeper Mats Sels having been impressive, it seems unlikely that he will return to the market again this summer. However, clubs are still on the lookout for the defender, with Chelsea, Bournemouth and Newcastle United all interested in Liverpool’s second-choice goalkeeper, according to TBR Football.

For Chelsea, who are looking for a consistent goalkeeper to replace Roberto Sanchez, whose performances have been erratic, the Irish goalkeeper would be ideal, as he has been a constant reserve but when he is on the pitch, he responds to his usage with above-average performances.

Bournemouth, who have been in good form this season, would like to bring in a goalkeeper with Premier League experience for next season, although Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been playing well on loan from Chelsea.

Newcastle United are also desperately searching for a defender. They have Nick Pope, who has represented England before, but he has been out injured for a number of periods and at 32 years of age, it would be a logical decision to switch to a 26-year-old goalkeeper.

So what path will Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who is likely to leave Anfield at the end of the season, take…?
