Liverpool’s pursuit of Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi last summer has been linked with various midfielders throughout the season.

They would like to secure at least one of them to ease the burden on Ryan Gravenberch, but no concrete moves have been made at the moment.

The Merseyside club, who did not sign anyone in the winter transfer window, are expected to make some decent moves this summer, with the possibility of reinforcements at centre-forward, left-back and centre-back, in addition to defensive midfielders.

According to Christian Falk (German journalist), Liverpool have acknowledged their interest in German midfielder Angelo Stiller, who is gaining a reputation at Stuttgart, but also mentioned the possibility of waiting until 2026, when his release clause becomes effective.

“It’s true: Liverpool are interested in Angelo Stiller,”

“Stiller has a release clause in his contract – valued at €36m – which comes into play in 2026. We heard about interest from Liverpool, so they are watching him. It would be possible to get him in 2026. Of course if they come in with a big offer this summer, it would also be possible to sign him early.”

The 23-year-old midfielder, who provides high technique and quality passing with his left foot, made a significant contribution to the team that finished second in the Bundesliga last season.

He has continued to start at the bottom of midfield this season and has also started in the Champions League in every game of the league phase.

He also made his debut for the German national team in September 2024 and has had a steady career. Will Liverpool bring the young gem out of Stuttgart ahead of schedule this summer…?
