22-year-old defender Jarell Quansah was a first-team player in Jurgen Klopp’s last season in charge. He started the season’s opening game, but has since been a fixture on the bench and his playing time has been limited.
He has been used at right-back, which is not his main position, and has started in cup competitions, but it would be a shame for him to spend the first half of his 20s as a bench-warmer, which is the perfect time for him to develop.
There are rumours that a new centre-back will be added to the squad next season, which could lead to more competition.
Starting at a new club is not a bad option to get his career back on track, but Mick Brown, who has worked as a scout for Manchester United and Tottenham, says a move to Newcastle United would be beneficial for both parties.
“His chances are going to be limited at Liverpool, I picked Quansah out when he was in the youth team and I always thought he had the makings of becoming a top player.”
“He’s got to a certain level in his career, but now I think he needs to push on again. To do that, he’s got to be playing football at the top level.”
“With the options they’ve got at Liverpool at the moment, it doesn’t look like he’ll be a regular any time soon, especially while they’re looking to sign new players there.”
“So if he’s got the opportunity to go and play for Newcastle, I hear he wants to do that. He knows what’s best for his career, and at this stage is being able to play every week.”
“It would be a tremendous move for him and for Newcastle, they’d be picking up a very promising young player if they could get it over the line.“

He is tall and strong in the air and has the ball control at his feet required of a modern defender. His calm demeanour belies his age, and he also has the composure and ability to play regularly in the Premier League.
He is fourth-choice centre-back behind Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez, and will need to work hard to regain Arne Slot’s reputation.
Will the 22-year-old centre-back move on and embark on a new career? Or will he continue to give his all to compete for a starting place at Anfield from next season onwards…?
