Liverpool are keen on Norwegian ‘gem’ Sverre Nypan after Martin Ødegaard Transfers

England U-21 midfielder Harvey Elliott has been unlucky with his playing time and was linked with moves to Brighton and Borussia Dortmund this winter.

The burden has also increased on Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister at the bottom of midfield, making the acquisition of a midfielder a high priority.

Liverpool have been linked with a number of midfielders since last summer. They have a list of European players, both attacking and defensive, and are scouting to see if they really fit in with the Arne Slott regime, as well as the conditions.

According to Football Transfers, Norwegian supernova midfielder Sverre Nypan has caught their radar and is likely to enter the battle with Arsenal, who are also interested, in earnest.

The 18-year-old midfielder made 28 appearances in the Norwegian professional football league Eryteserien last season and quickly caught the attention of mega clubs with his impressive figures of eight goals and seven assists.

The two-footed technician doesn’t lose the ball easily when he’s brought on by opposing players and is tasked with setting up attacks from the middle of the park. He has also made four appearances for Norway U-21s and is close to making his full national team debut.

However, his lack of experience is undeniable and it is difficult for him to suddenly make it to the big stage of the Premier League.

The first priority is to get him playing experience through the academy or on loan transfers. That would be the same response whether it is Liverpool or Arsenal.

It could be a great addition in terms of investment for the future, rather than an immediate asset. Will the Merseyside club be able to add a young gem of Norway’s future to their squad?
