Egyptian international Mohamed Salah’s contract with Liverpool is due to expire soon. Negotiations have been ongoing since last summer, and both the club and the player are said to want to stay, but the two sides have not been able to find terms to agree on.
With the season already entering its second half, time is running out. Supporters are feeling jealous, but the owners are reportedly hesitant to spend a large sum of money, considering his age and the possibility of a rapid decline.
Egyptian King, the man involved, has long made it clear to the media that he wants to stay at Liverpool and has spoken about the state of negotiations, with the right winger, who is approaching 33, saying he has given his all at Anfield so far, in what could be seen as a message to the ownership team.
“In a very polite way, I want fans to remember that I gave it all to the fans, I gave it all to the city.”
“I was here, I wasn’t lazy, I just enjoyed my football and gave it all. I think that’s what the city is about – they give you love and you have a connection with them because you give your all. I just want them to remember that I was here for eight years – and I gave it all.”
“To be here for eight years is not something I take for granted. Playing at a top club like Liverpool, fighting for every trophy every year is incredible. I feel like I’m in very good shape and trying to make sure that not only I improve but that the players around me are improving as well.”

The Egyptian attacker is not the only player in contract extension talks for Liverpool. Talks with Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk and England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold have also stalled, with none of them having been settled.
Will Mohamed Salah and the other two players sign new contracts with Liverpool or will they go down a new path…?
