Fabinho sale changes minds...Liverpool may pay Southampton's asking price over Romeo Lavia Transfers

In order to install Fabinho’s successor, Liverpool has been committed to landing Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia for some time now. They have already presented three offers, but they have not reached their asking price and have been turned down.

Liverpool is considering a fourth offer. But, Chelsea, who had been monitoring the player’s situation, entered the race in earnest and presented Southampton with an offer closer to their asking price of £48 million.

While Liverpool was holding out, the battle for the Belgian midfielder intensified, and Sacha Tavolieri reported the fact that Chelsea is seriously considering a hijacking.

He also mentioned the possibility of a change of mind, although he revealed that he had wanted to play at Anfield.

“Chelsea FC now on the ball for Romeo Lavia with a 48M£ bid, as first told by David Ornstein,”

“CFC really try to hijack the deal tonight & Chelsea has always been the longest team following & pressing for Romeo Lavia in the time… Joe Shields’s role could be decisive. Mind of the player remained until this evening focus on Liverpool FC deal. This is a complex situation… so Wait&See.”

“The only thing I can tell to the LFC fans right now « to reassure » them is that the Belgian midfielder was clear about his desire to move to Liverpool FC until this evening. Now, the next hours will show us if the player changed his mind on this, or not.”
