With Jordan Henderson and Fabinho leaving for Saudi Arabia, Liverpool is without an experienced player to entrust at the bottom of midfield. The promising new star Stefan Bajcetic is still with the club, but he is still developing and it is difficult for him to keep starting.
Three offers were made to acquire Romeo Lavia, a 19-year-old midfielder who regularly played as an anchor man at Southampton, but all were not accepted.
Liverpool was unwilling to pay the asking price for a player who was one year older than Bajcetic, had only one season in the Premier League, and had little experience in the national team.
Then, with the start of the Premier League season approaching, everything took a sudden turn. A battle broke out between the rival teams, with Chelsea making an offer to Southampton and Liverpool contacting Brighton to inquire about a transfer fee.
Initially, it was expected that Lavia would play at Anfield and Caicedo at Stamford Bridge, as was widely expected. However, Liverpool, who had been reluctant to pay a large sum of money at Jude Bellingham, showed their true colors.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool reached an inter-club agreement with Brighton with an offer of up to £110 million. If the documents and medical go as planned, the signing is expected to take place by the end of the day.

Chelsea made an offer as well, but at a total of £100 million, Brighton, who were willing to sell to a higher-paying club, reached an agreement with Liverpool, who offered a higher offer.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is also expected to hold discussions with the player, and a big deal is on the way…
