Saudi Arabia has been on a rampage in the transfer market this summer. The Premier League is no exception, as it has been acquiring top players from domestic and overseas clubs, backed by ample funds. Arsenal acquired English midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham.
Chelsea welcomed Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton. Elsewhere, Brighton loaned Ansu Fati from Barcelona, and Manchester City bolstered their squad with young Croatian defender Josko Guvardiol.
Liverpool worked to revamp their midfield, adding Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis Mac Allister.
When asked about this summer’s transfer market, former Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who made numerous Premier League appearances during his playing days, responded that of all the famous transfer windows, Mac Allister is the best addition of the season at the moment.
“I think [Alexis] Mac Allister is probably, possibly, could be one of the signings of the season in terms of transfer fee and obviously the quality of player you’re getting.”
“For me, I’m going to go with Mac Allister, I’m going to say he’s the signing of the season, or at certainly the window thus far.”
