Liverpool has regained midfield intensity throughout the summer period, securing several new midfielders. The squad is now strong enough to rotate even with the lingering poor condition of Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic.
It is said that they will move to acquire a midfielder to further strengthen their midfield, but the real reason for this remains unclear. On the other hand, the names of midfielders from Europe and South America, including Fluminense midfielder Andre, are reported daily, and Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich is one of the candidates.
Christian Falk, a German journalist, touched on the German midfielder’s departure, suggesting that he may leave the club at the end of his contract until 2025.
He also claimed that he fits Liverpool’s style of play, while Barcelona and Manchester City are also interested.
“It cannot be ruled out that FC Bayern and Kimmich part ways. His contract only runs until 2025,”
“Like Nagelsmann, Thomas Tuchel has also questioned the player. Both coaches do not see Kimmich as a ‘holding Six’.”
“FC Barcelona is very interested in Kimmich. If he comes onto the market next summer, some clubs in the Premier League will also look at him.”
“Pep Guardiola is considered a big fan of Kimmich after having initially discovered and promoted him in Munich.”
“The City coach appreciates Kimmich’s versatility as he can play in many positions.”
“But Jürgen Klopp also knows Kimmich’s strengths, which would suit Liverpool FC well.”
“The poker for Kimmich could soon be open.”
The German midfielder, who will turn 29 next February, has been with Bayern since the summer of 2015 after stints with Leipzig and Stuttgart.
As a youngster he was also useful as a right back, and in recent years he has played as a defensive midfielder.
He has scored 40 goals and provided 100 assists in 365 games for the club, and has been a mainstay of the team this season.
At this point, it seems unlikely that he will leave the club, but will he decide to leave the German champions with one year left on his contract, like Thiago Alcantara?
