With the year 2024 upon us, the European soccer world has entered the winter transfer market. Liverpool is no exception, with interest in a number of players reported between last summer and the end of the year. The positions varied from forward and midfielder to defender.
Among the three positions that were frequently in the news were right winger, defensive midfielder, and center back.
The front line was to prepare for the departure of Mohamed Salah, the bottom of midfield was to increase the number of players, and center back was to rejuvenate the final line for different reasons.
Names that have often been mentioned since the summer of 2023 include Fluminense midfielder Andre, Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, and Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie. However, Ben Jacobs (sports journalist) denies those rumors.
Understand Liverpool are not actively pursuing Fluminense's Andre despite considering him in the past. He's not on their list. Same for João Palhinha and Piero Hincapie.❌ pic.twitter.com/QWZnRXAV58

Fluminense’s Brazilian midfielder is also said to be of interest to Fulham, also in the Premier League.
The Portuguese midfielder has a history of interest from Premier League clubs in addition to that club, as his move to Bayern Munich last summer was broken off at the last minute.
All three players were frequently mentioned in the transfer market last summer, but Liverpool has already dropped out of the fray.
With time, interest could resurface, but at the moment, Liverpool’s attention seems to be on other targets.
