Liverpool, which struggled last season, made a major reshuffling of its midfielders, losing many of its midfielders around the age of 30, while retaining players who could become key players in the next generation, such as Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
The result was a return to Liverpool’s usual strength, and they have been in good form since the start of the Premier League season.
Even in games in which they were down a goal or struggled to keep possession in front of goal, they showed the strength to turn the game around and join the championship contenders.
West Ham forward Michail Antonio does not welcome Liverpool’s strength. The player said before playing Liverpool last September that his club would finish higher up the table, but the home team scored three goals to win the game at Anfield.
The incident led to numerous direct messages on the player’s social networking site, and he mentioned that he expected rival teams such as Arsenal and Manchester City to win the championship in a volume of messages that supporters could not read.
“I don’t want Liverpool to win the league because you Liverpool fans are still in my inbox,”
“Get lost! I’m saying it with [my] chest. I don’t want Liverpool to win the league! Come for me! Arsenal get it. Man City, get it. That’s all I have to say about that!”
