Liverpool and Tottenham are in the race for Tosin Adarabioyo, whose contract expires at the end of the season Transfers

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo has built up a reputation in the Premier League over the past two seasons, and the 26-year-old centre-back will be a free transfer at the end of the season if he continues, as his contract renewal with his current club is not in progress.

Although he has only played 23 games in the domestic league, Carabao Cup and FA Cup this season, partly due to surgery, he is a defender with a good physique and the foot skills required of a modern centre-back.

Liverpool have long been reported to be interested in the player as a replacement for 32-year-old defender Joel Matip, who is likely to leave at the end of the season, but Sky Sports reported that Tottenham Hotspur, also in the Premier League, are also looking to sign the 26-year-old defender.

Liverpool’s centre-backs, led by Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez, as well as Jarell Quansah, who has emerged this season. They have one of the best final lines in the world, and Adarabioyo, who has proven himself in England’s top flight, could be the right man to maintain that level.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham have yet to establish a third man behind Christian Romero and Mickey van de Ven, and this winter’s signing Radu Dragsin is still getting used to England’s unique speed of development.

It would be natural for Fulham to show interest in a centre-back to strengthen their backline. And with no transfer fee required, it would not be surprising if clubs other than Liverpool and Tottenham take an interest.

Fulham are keen to extend his contract, but what does the future hold for the former Manchester City defender’s career?
