With Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, Liverpool have one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. Behind them is third-choice goalkeeper Adrian, who supports the team more mentally than playing.
The 37-year-old Spanish goalkeeper was expected to leave the club last summer, but signed a new one-year contract. And although he has behaved like a coach on the bench this season, he is no longer indispensable as a player and is likely to leave the team in the summer.
According to HITC, Liverpool are interested in Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen , who has started all but one La Liga game. The young goalkeeper has also played for the Danish U-21 national team.
The Swedish goalkeeper has progressed through Mallorca and Villarreal’s lower divisions since arriving in Spain in January 2014, and after being promoted to the first team in the winter of 2023, he has also gained experience playing in European competitions such as the Europa League and Conference League.
A number of clubs are interested in replacing Adrian, as well as the Irish goalkeeper, and it remains to be seen whether he will remain as a reserve goalkeeper next season.
