Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim were seen as serious contenders to be Liverpool’s next manager, but the former has decided to stay in the Bundesliga, while the latter is in talks with West Ham United in London, moving ahead of the Reds.
And while the names of various other targets were buzzing in the media, credible media and journalists all reported the manager as a major contender. Ben Jacobs (sports journalist) reported that Arne Slott, who led Feyenoord to the Dutch Cup title, was the man in charge.
“Feyenoord’s Arne Slot has become a serious candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager. His attacking style is of appeal. Nothing decided yet. Liverpool still completing a thorough process that has multiple candidates.”

The 45-year-old Dutch-born coach has been in charge of Feyenoord since July 2021, having previously held coaching and managerial positions at SC Cambuur and AZ Alkmaar. He has a record of 93 wins, 27 minutes and 24 losses in 144 games so far, including Eredivisie and the Champions League.
Bayern Munich, Barcelona and AC Milan are also interested in the coach, who is also known for his ability to develop young players, with the German champions keen to follow him. The compensation is estimated to total 10 million euros, with the same amount to be paid in the event of a call-up.
Fabrizio Romano, who is well versed in the transfer market, also posted that the Dutchman is keen to challenge at Anfield and that Liverpool officials are highly impressed with his ability.
🚨🇳🇱 One more direct contact will take place soon between Arne Slot and Liverpool board to discuss more key points of the project.
