Liverpool list new left-back...Brest defender Bradley Locko is the focus Transfers

In addition to Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, Liverpool have a solid left-back line-up with Joe Gomez. Each defender has different characteristics and can be used in rotation, depending on opponents and conditions.

However, the Greek defender has not returned to form after returning from injury. He has played a few games, but all of them have been poor performances, and despite the overcrowded schedule, he has been a reserve.

At 28 years of age, it is also the right time to look at a generational change for a new era, and interest in various left-backs and left-footed centre-backs is reported.

A new name has emerged on that list. According to Football Insider, Liverpool have joined the battle for Brest’s 22-year-old defender Bradley Locko and are looking to acquire him in the summer transfer window.

He is physically gifted, up and down the field, and is also effective in attack with his incisive dribbling. He has started every Ligue 1 game this season and made his debut for France U-23s in March 2024.

As Liverpool plan to allocate their budget to attackers and centre-backs, it remains to be seen whether they will spend money on a left-back.

It is likely that they can get through another season with their current three players, and with youngsters Owen Beck and Luke Chambers also in the pipeline, depending on their development, reinforcements may not be needed.

With Jurgen Klopp gone and Liverpool looking to restart under a new manager, will they ever welcome a French side-back into the defensive ranks…?
