After joining Liverpool from Bayern Munich, former Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara struggled with the intensity of the Premier League, missing numerous games through injury.
Only this season, he played just five minutes of one game and spent most of the time off the bench.
His contract with Liverpool, which was coming to an end this season, expired and he left the club. Lucas Pedrosa, a Brazilian journalist, reported that a Brazilian club had made contact with the 33-year-old midfielder, who became a free transfer in the summer transfer window.
“Thiago Alcântara was approached by Vasco through intermediaries. Contact was made with his father, who has yet to start talks.”
“Other teams in Brazil and Europe are interested in the midfielder, who will be free on the market.”
“That’s it for now, nothing more.”
