German midfielder Florian Wirtz has attracted strong interest from some of the world’s top clubs, including Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Despite his small stature, he leads the attack with his high technique and reigns as a goal-scoring chance-maker.
He has scored 18 goals and provided 20 assists in 49 games for Bayer Leverkusen this season. He was an integral part of the club’s undefeated Bundesliga title run and their run to the Europa League final, where they also qualified for next season’s Champions League.
The player, who is under contract until June 2027, has been continuously linked with a move to a stronger club.
Nevertheless, the German midfielder’s father has spoken out about his son’s departure and assured that he will continue to play with coach Xabi Alonso next season.
“Florian has a contract in Leverkusen. He’s looking forward to next year at Bayer 04 when he can play in the Champions League with Leverkusen for the first time.”
“Those are the facts. Now the focus is on the Euros. After that there’s a lot to do with the club next season, so there’s no need for speculation. There’s really nothing to say beyond that.”

He is still only 21 years old and is by no means in a hurry to step up.He should take his time to develop at his current club and experience the big stage first, and is unlikely to see any moves in the transfer market this summer.
And he should be able to deliver the performances that lead the team to victory.
The transfer shenanigans will only really get into full swing in the summer of 2025. Which club will Germany’s leading attacking midfielder choose for his next move?
