Greek defender Kostas Tsimikas joined Liverpool in the summer of 2020 as back-up to Scotland defender Andy Robertson. He has made 86 appearances for Anfield so far, providing 16 assists.
However, this season he came on during Robertson’s injury period, but was injured himself and failed to make the most of his opportunities.
On his return, his condition did not improve and he put in a poor performance, playing only 13 minutes in the second half of the Premier League season.
After a less than satisfactory season, Mail Sport’s Lewis Steele said he would not be surprised to see him leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window, suggesting the 28-year-old left-back could be on his way to a new club.
“One we didn’t mention is probably left back with Kostas Tsimikas,”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he left this summer just based on certain things I’ve heard and just the fact he couldn’t really get a game in the second half of last season even when Andy Robertson was injured.”

The return of 27-year-old defender Joe Gomez to the England squad, who has performed well at left-back, has put a yellow light on the regular competition and could be third choice for the new season.
Nevertheless, there are no reports circulating that a new side-back is on the list, and it seems unlikely that the Greek defender, who is a valuable reserve player, will be let go.
It is expected to be a ground-breaking move, but will there be a future for the player to leave the team this summer…?
