Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Aït-Nouri was also rumoured to be of interest from Liverpool during the winter transfer window, during a period of injuries to left-backs Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.
The demand for the left-back was reduced for Liverpool due to the good performances of 27-year-old defender Joe Gomez, who also made a return to the England national team.
However, the Greek defender has played poorly in the second half of the season and could be in need of a player who can compete with the Scottish defender for the position.
According to Abdel Hamed (Algerian journalist), Liverpool are continuously interested in the player and the Reds are in pole position in the race for the player with Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Algerian defender, who played more in midfield last season as well as at left-back, is approaching ‘100’ Premier League appearances and it is time for him to consider a step up.
