Irish goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher is increasingly likely to leave Liverpool, where he has been since 2015. Nottingham Forest have made an offer this winter and are rumoured to be in the market for him in the summer transfer window.

Last season was a productive one for the second-choice goalkeeper, with Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker out injured for an extended period. However, at the age of 25, the Cork-born goalkeeper is looking for a club where he can play regularly and the time is approaching when he should change clubs.

Liverpool are looking at various goalkeepers in preparation for his departure. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia is also on the list, and could also be in the running for Alisson’s long-term replacement.

Nick Pope is out for a long time and second choice Martin Dubravka’s contract is up to 2025. Against this backdrop, the club is working to secure a goalkeeper and made an offer of £21 million to the Spanish club, but the proposal was rejected.

The club has not stopped trying to acquire the 23-year-old goalkeeper, who also played a major role in EURO 2024, and is expected to continue to make offers in the future. However, a good performance on the European stage could see the transfer fee rise.

Will the Valencia defender make the step up to England this summer?
