Rumours of Liverpool interest...Juventus prepare to sell Spanish U-21 defender Dean Huijsen Transfers

With the departure of Joel Matip and the ageing of Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool are facing a pressing need for a generational change in their centre-backs.

Since last summer’s transfer window, they have been looking at left-footed centre-backs and have listed several left-footed defenders this summer.

Although not considered that serious, there have been several reports of interest in 19-year-old defender Dean Huijsen, who was on loan at AS Roma in the second half of last season and made 13 Serie A appearances.

The promising young centre-back, however, is being prepared to be sold by his contractual partners Juventus, who are planning to demand at least €25 million, according to Fabrizio Romano.

“Dean Huijsen, still expected to leave Juventus in the next days as price tag will be around €25m plus add-ons.”

“There’s interest from several clubs with Juve ready to sell him, waiting for the best proposal.”

“Juve will sign at least 1 more centre back.”

The Dutch-born Spanish U-21 defender is a dexterous centre-back who can use both feet and will switch representatives from the Netherlands to Spain in March 2024.

Despite his height of 197 cm, he has good technique with his feet and is an investment for the future rather than an immediate asset.

However, €25 million is too much for a player who still has little experience, and it is unlikely that Liverpool will continue to be interested, but what do you think?
