Then-16-year-old forward Kaide Gordon was brought to Liverpool in the winter of 2021 after showing his talent at Derby County’s academy.
Immediately after joining the club, he was given first-team opportunities, mainly in cup competitions, but complicated injuries kept him off the bench for more than a year from the following year onwards.
Now 19, he returned to the FA Cup and Premier League last season. Ahead of the new season, he has been involved in pre-season and has been on the USA tour. He is looking to appeal to new coach Arne Slott’s confidence.
However, with talented players such as Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, England U-21 midfielder Harvey Elliott and 18-year-old Ben Doak, who has also been selected for Scotland, it is difficult for him to secure playing time in the first team.
According to international media outlet The Academy SCOOP, five Championship clubs are interested in the 19-year-old winger and are considering taking him on loan for the 2024/25 season.
